Turn Your Shed into a Man Cave

Turn Your Shed into a Man Cave
An outdoor shed is not just for storing garden tools and equipment. It can also be used as a place where you can enjoy your hobbies, work, and rest.

If you’re searching for a space of your own, consider transforming your shed into a man cave. Here are some things you should know about the man caves made out of outdoor sheds and how you can construct them.

Come up with a design

The very first thing to think about is the design of your man cave. Before you get started, read some books or magazines, browse the Internet or you can ask an interior designer or architect to help you with the design of your man cave.

Clean the shed

Once you’ve made a decision on the design, now comes the preparation of the shed.  Remove all items from the shed and clean the space. Remember that you will need a blank canvass for starting your project,

Insulate and paint the shed

To avert high utility bills in the future, fit insulation and line or plaster your man cave.   Paint  your walls and roof to provide a more attractive atmosphere.

Set up lighting and flooring

Installing proper lighting and flooring can easily turn an ordinary shed into a cozy man cave. Choose from lamps, downlights, and spotlights, taking into account the look you want to achieve.  Don't forget the floor, if it is a concrete slab you can paint the floor with an Epoxy Paint after the floor has been cleaned, filled and primed.  Or you can lay a timber floor or even carpet the man cave if it suits your design.

Furnish your man cave

The last step in creating your dream man cave is to furnish it. Choose the pieces of furniture to match your style and personality. Then provide your man cave with the appliances such as a TV, bar fridge, etc.

Consider security once your man cave has been designed install extra locks, window grills and alarm systems.
