Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
about Garden Sheds

  • In Victoria, a building permit is required for sheds greater than 10m² in floor area. For sheds not more than 10 m² in floor area, a building permit is not required providing the shed is: 

    1. 3m or less in height, or, if situated within 1m of a boundary, is no more than 2.4m in height
    2. located no further forward than the front wall of the single dwelling

    Size 3x3 shed is a standard size that doesn't require Building Permit.

     

    You can customise it by changing size to 3.33x3 to get the closest result to 10 square meters
