Prices include GST, standard engineering and delivery to metro Melbourne. Regional delivery costs more. They exclude the concrete slab and the permit. You can add windows, extra doors, skylights, whirlybirds and more, choose where the doors and windows go, and every kit is engineered for your shed and your site. What customers say
4.6 out of 5 from 258 reviews on ProductReview
From the moment we walked into the showroom we were at ease. … It is a daunting task to build a large garage and as I had not done this before I was a bit anxious. Shed Bonanza arranged the building permit and recommended the necessary trades people, it was never too much trouble for the team.
I'm really happy with how the 6m x 6m Colorbond garage turned out at our new home build. The team from Shed Bonanza in Bayswater was great to deal with … Love that we found a colour that matches our new home's Colorbond roof too.
I initially was scared about being an owner builder. [They were] very patient and informative and made me feel a lot more confident to go through the process … The shed is of superb quality. They use Australian BlueScope steel. … You will never regret your choice of using Shed Bonanza.
The team were very helpful and professional … even applying for the permit everything went smoothly. The guys they put me onto for the slab and assembly of the garage were great.
We highly recommend Shed Bonanza for their excellent customer service. … [The concretor] who placed the concrete slab had excellent communication with us and his work was outstanding. … [The builders] who assembled the garage were phenomenal. … The final product was absolutely perfect and we're tempted to move out of the house and into the garage!
Permits & engineering
Most garages in Victoria need a building permit, and some blocks need a planning permit as well. Our team has decades of experience and knowledge with Victorian councils and can assist with the process. Every kit is engineered for your site’s wind rating and the Australian standards.

Every kit is backed by an engineer’s certificate.
Great service, very attentive. They organised all design work and paperwork to present to our design committee, then the local council planning department.

FAQ
Cannot see yours? Ask us when you request a quote, or just call. You will get a real answer from someone who has done it before.
Almost always, yes, and the rules vary between councils, and sometimes between streets. Permits are their own maze, so we can assist you through the building permit process. We are not the permit authority, but we can take most of the pain out of it.
As a general rule, buildings over 10 square metres in floor area need a building permit, and most garages are well over that. There are exemptions, and they depend on your council, your block and where the building sits on it. Rather than guess from a rule of thumb, put it in a quote request and we will tell you what applies to your site.
Not ourselves, but the builders we refer you to do this all the time. Ask for it when you request your quote so removal is priced in from the start, rather than becoming a surprise on the week your new one is due.
Yes. We offer a site inspection for a fixed fee, and it is worth it when access is tight, the ground falls away, or you are not sure the building will sit where you think it will. Ask us about it when you request your quote.
Yes. Plenty of our customers build their own, as DIY or owner-builders. Your kit comes with the engineering, the drafting and assembly instructions. If you would rather not, we can refer you to registered builders and independent concreters and installers we have worked with for years. You stay in control of who you engage.
The full COLORBOND® steel colour range, including Matt, on the roof, the walls, the trims and the doors, and you can mix them. The 3D designer lets you try combinations before you commit, and our showrooms have the physical colour chips, which is a very different thing to a screen.
That depends on the size of the build, your council and your site. Engineering and the permit come first, then manufacture, and the delivery team confirms the delivery date with you.
We deliver across Victoria and the NSW border region on regular runs, and by arrangement to Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and south-east Queensland. Check your suburb on our delivery areas page, or put your address into the quote form and it will tell you straight away. If we cannot help, we will say so rather than waste your time.
Yes. Every kit is engineered to Australian standards for your site, including your local wind and snow ratings. That is part of why the quote is tailored to your site rather than pulled off a generic table.
